US Wash Days

On the 24th of January, 2024, The Washing Machine Project (TWMP) held a Wash Day in Texas for homeless individuals funded by RS Group and supported by volunteers. During the Wash Day, 34 wash cycles were completed in a launderette which is equivalent to approximately 180 kilograms of clothes. This is significantly more than can be completed by the shelter on a daily basis (approximately 20 wash cycles). During this wash day as well as previous wash days, surveys were conducted with homeless individuals. In total 21 surveys were conducted of which 11 were more detailed while 10 were briefer surveys. The findings of these surveys are presented in this brief.
