Focus Group Discussion Summary Report
Engineers Without Borders (EWB) conducted a focus group discussion to gather qualitative insights on the use of a non-electrical washing machine. The goal was to understand users' thoughts, feelings, actions, and preferences regarding washing practices. Using tools like the Empathy Map, EWB discussed improvements to current washing practices, incorporating business ideas, and what users prioritize in washing. The discussion consisted of three parts: a baseline survey, focus group discussion, and a ranking activity. Participants were divided into two groups (women and a mixed group) to complete the survey and discuss their views. Both quantitative and qualitative data will inform the final design requirements for the Non-Electrical Tumble Drum Washing Machine Prototype.
